Our Team

We are a school-based team with many STEM interested students. All the members collaborate together to achieve the goals of the game.

We Participate in FIRST Tech Challenge

The FIRST Tech Challenge is one of four programs designed by FIRST, an organization which strives for cooperative competition by stressing its term "Gracious Professionalism", a term coined by Woodie Flowers (FIRST Distinguished Advisor).

Our Sponsors and Supporters

Thank you to all the new and old sponsors who have helped us throughout the years of our team's existence.

If you or your organization has sponsored us in the past, we thank you for your support.

Y.A.L.E. School

The YALiEns Robotics Team thanks our school, Y.A.L.E. School, for supporting our team, and making it possible to compete in the FIRST Tech Challenge. Throughout the years, they have provided us with a majority of our funding, space, materials and resources we need for our robotics team. We appreciate their continued support!

Chews Landing Fire Department

Our team would like to thank the Chews Landing Fire Department for their support and generous donation.

Q&A

Q - Is this the same as the in-school robotics club?
A - No. The in-school club is simply a high school club period. They may assist the team at times, but their activities are usually seperate from the FIRST based team.

Q - How often are events or meetings?
A - Meetings take place at one of our Y.A.L.E. School facilities every Wednesday around 3:30pm and go until 5:30pm. More information about the location and transportation can be attained from contacting our coach.

Before officially joining, please consider if you can commit time to robotics. You should be able to come to almost every meeting.

Q - Do I need experience?
A - It helps, but no. Everything you do in robotics can be learned from other members on the team or by using the resources available to you. The FIRST Tech Challenge community is very helpful and willing to assist in any robotics needs you may have. Check out the FIRST forums for help.

We encourage you to have an interest in working with robotics. It doesn't help to have people floating around with no actual interest in robotics.

NOTE: These questions apply to the 2017-2018 school year and are subject to change.
